Kurt Cobain plays on paranoia, using a Joseph Heller quote to question whether someone really *is* out to get you. "Territorial Pissings" gets sampled by both Alta Marea and Violent J, making it the kind of loud and unyielding track that keeps grunge from becoming acoustic rock. Butch Vig, who produced this, also produced the album's more well-known tracks.
