Matt Skiba already used the allegory of a broken relationship in the song “Pocket Knife,” singing: “Left you out in the sun, you hung me out to dry.” Here, the band layers Skiba's lead vocals with Dan Andriano and Derek Grant, creating a wall of voices that amplify the feeling of being left to twist. It's an emo-tinged expression of frustration, amplified by the production of Matt Allison, who also engineered multiple tracks for blink-182.
