This is my tribute run to Local H. Their album, 12 Angry Months, documents the story of a terrible breakup month by month.

Since this is a concept album, the opener has a pretty big job of setting the stage and getting the listener on board– “The One With ‘Kid’” is one of the best. That iconic chord strum sets the stage for the western showdown that is about to begin.

Eventually, the song picks up some energy (so stay with it) as Scott Lucas demands the return of the albums she took on the way out. The Run With ‘Kid’ is a running playlist featuring songs from the missing albums.

The order of this playlist is a nod to how you played records. There were always one or two songs you liked you would drop right to, then flip to the other side, play a song, then flip to the next album, and repeat. I liked the idea of finding songs from one album and playing them together as a set that would keep your run interesting.
